A victim was injured in a shooting in North Georgia, earlier this week. The Elbert County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Harpers Ferry Road in Elberton, Tuesday.
Upon arrival deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Deputies say gunfire damage was found on the drivers side of the victim's vehicle.
Deputies then located the suspect, Jermaine Hamm. He told deputies he was shooting at a dog that was near the highway. Bullet holes were found in the area.
Hamm was then arrested and is charged with reckless conduct, discharging a gun while under the influence and for shooting in close proximity of a highway. The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that were said to be non-life threatening.
