A man was injured after a self-inflicted shooting at a major airport, Sunday. Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta say a man identified as 59 year old ,Douglas Smith shot himself in the arm there.
Smith entered the airport and went up the escalator and fired. A witness then kicked the gun away from him after the shot was fired. Smith, who is said to be an already convicted felon, was taken to a hospital to be treated.
This marks the second gun related incident at Atlanta Airport in the last few months, after a man named Billy Cagle of Cartersville, Georgia came there armed and threatened to shoot up the airport.
Following the weekend incident, Smith is charged with multiple weapons violations and reckless conduct.
