A pedestrian is dead after a crash in Western North Carolina, Tuesday night. The Asheville Police Department responded to the crash at the intersection of Patton and North Louisiana Avenue, around 10PM.
Police say, a Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Patton Avenue when the driver hit a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. He's been identified as 62 year old, Claude McPherson Jr.
The crash remains under investigation. The Police Department will be consulting the District Attorney's Office on whether charges will be filed.
