Pedestrian hit and killed by train identified

The Pedestrian that was killed after being hit by a train in the Upstate has been identified. As we previously reported, The Greer Police Department and Greenville County Coroner's Office responded to a report of a man hit by a train around 240 PM Thursday at the railroad crossing at Moore and Able Streets in Greer.

The Coroner's Office has identified the man as 70 year old, Randall Edward Palmer of Greer. The Coroner's report says, Mr, Palmer was waling near the crossing while a train was actively coming down the tracks. He went past the gate at the crossing and hit and killed. His cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma and his manner of death has been ruled accidental.
