SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 24, 2021) On March 24, 2021, officers from the Spartanburg Police Department responded to an incident involving a pedestrian being struck by a train.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Brawley Street and Allen Street.
On March 24, 2021, around 7:20 a.m., officers from the Spartanburg Police Department responded to an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a train. The investigation found the victim was walking on the tracks when she was struck.
It appears she attempted to walk away from the tracks, however she was not able to clear the train’s path of travel.
Emergency responders arrived on scene where they found her deceased.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office will release the indemnity of the victim once it is appropriate for public release.
