Police have named a person of interest after a weekend murder in the Upstate. Just before 2:30 AM Saturday, the Spartanburg Police Dept. responded to a reported shooting at the Local Fig Restaurant on Magnolia Street.
Upon arrival, they found a man on the sidewalk that had been shot. The man later identified as 31 year old, Dearrius Lynell Bobo of Spartanburg died at the scene before EMS arrived. A 2nd victim was later discovered after arriving injured at a local hospital in a private vehicle. Police say the two victims were shot in a drive-by, the suspect vehicle was later located.
The person of interest has been identified as 33 year old, Tyson Maurice Thompson. The Spartanburg PD says no arrests warrants have been signed and the incident is still under investigation.
