A Philadelphia man is set to spend four decades in prison after being convicted of killing an Upstate woman. The 10th Circuit Solicitors Office says David Delgado Jr. pleaded guilty Tuesday in connection to the death in Ahjai Gambrell.
Court records show that Delgado killed Gambrell at her parents home in Oconee County in 2023. Gambrell's parents were out of the home when she was killed. They returned as Delgado was leaving and found blood inside.
Gambrell's body was later found off of Wells Highway in Seneca. Investigators say bullet holes were found inside the home. Delgado fled the area and was apprehended in Virginia after a high speed chase. Delgado has been sentenced to 40 years.
