The Pickens County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who drowned over the weekend.

According to a release, on February 12 around 7:45 a.m. 28-year-old Joshua Corey Savage was walking on the train trestle over Lake Hartwell from Seneca to Central.


The release states Savage "jumped off the trestle into the water when the train approached him."  Witnesses reportedly heard him calling for help.

A search for his body went on for over a day; he was found around noon on February 13.

The Pickens County Coroner's Office and the Clemson Police Department are investigating the incident.
