An already registered sex offender from the Upstate is facing child sex crime charges. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says 61 year old, Alan Dale Smith was arrested today after the search of a home in Moore. Smith is already on the sex offender registry after a previous conviction.
The search uncovered hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse. Smith is charged with 10 counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.
