Released by Prisma Health.
Prisma Health is working with the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to get shots in arms. Currently, Prisma Health only receives the Pfizer vaccine from DHEC. If we receive DHEC approval, we look forward to also being able to vaccinate community members with the Moderna vaccine and just approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Prisma Health has six vaccination sites and just launched a mobile-unit initiative, which will take vaccines directly into vulnerable or rural communities.

As of March 1, Prisma Health had given 220,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Prisma Health is slated to receive 18,720 vaccine doses for this week, with most already committed to second-dose appointments and very limited first-dose appointments. We have not been given information about vaccines expected next week.

We have the capacity to administer many more doses per day across our system – we just need the vaccine supply.

Prisma Health is already working with school districts and private schools on plans to help vaccinate their teachers and answer teacher questions about the vaccination process. Prisma Health Business Health Solutions has also been working with businesses to provide ongoing information about COVID-19, including about testing and vaccination.
