New charges are pending following the arrest of an already registered sex offender from the Upstate. A search warrant was executed at a home in Laurens Friday which led to the arrest of Mitchell S. Freeman.
The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office says, Freeman is charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Laurens County SWAT assisted the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office in executing the warrant.
Freeman has been listed on the sex offender registry since 2003 following a conviction for committing a lewd act on a child under 16. The Sheriff’s Office believes there could be additional victims. Anyone with information, or anyone who may have been the victim of a sex crime, is asked to contact the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
