South Carolina's chief prosecutor has issued a warning to potential rioters ahead of this weekend.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson released a statement ahead of Saturday, as Flag Day events are expected to meet resistance from protesters nationwide.
Wilson warned would-be rioters that if they attack police, damage property or endanger lives in South Carolina, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Wilson referenced the riots in Los Angeles saying that similar groups are organizing efforts around the country that could lead to clashes with law enforcement.
Wilson ended the statement saying "South Carolina is a law and order state and that it will remain that way".
