On February 24, 2025, a man and woman were shot at an Asheville hotel. The man suffered an arm wound, the woman a leg and stomach wound. Both were treated at Mission hospital and reported in stable condition at that time.
On February 28, 2025, Detectives wit the Asheville Police Department named their shooting suspect, Edzavious Javon Lindsey, and issued warrants. He's also wanted in South Carolina for Armed Robbery.

On March 5, 2025, Detectives said Lindsey was located and arrested Tuesday and booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND.

He faces multiple charges, including Attempted First Degree Murder x2, Assault With a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Robbery, and Larceny of a Firearm.
The shooting remains under investigation.
