There are many questions concerning what the overturning of Roe vs Wade means from a legal standpoint. Last year, Gov. McMaster signed the Fetal Heartbeat Bill into law. That law says that abortion in South Carolina is illegal after an unborn baby develops a heartbeat, which is as quick as 6 weeks in many cases. The bill was originally blocked by federal courts. State Attorney General Alan Wilson joined the Tara Show Monday morning to clarify what happens next in legal terms. Wilson says once the injunction is lifted on the heartbeat bill, it would become the law in South Carolina until new laws are implemented by the General Assembly. That means abortion would be legal up to 6 weeks under the heartbeat bill. The full interview is below.
