The leading litigator in the palmetto state has announced an investigation into a well-known online gaming site. Attorney General Alan Wilson says an investigation has been launched into the gaming platform Roblox.
The site is immensely popular with kids but has a documented history of being used by sexual predators looking to prey on children. Other states have recently sued Roblox claiming the site while mainly marketed to kids is loaded with sexualized content.
Those suits also allege that Roblox doesn't have adequate age verification or parental controls. The investigation looks to uncover how many kids across South Carolina use the site and how Roblox moderates content.
Wilson said "As a dad, I want to be certain that gaming platforms or websites my children can access are safe and free from sexualized material, and as Attorney General, I want to ensure the safety of our state’s children on the internet".
