A Seneca woman has been arrested on a charge of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. 23 year old Emily Hall Tannery, an employee of the Oconee County School District, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators say, Tannery exchanged text messages with a child in an attempt to illicit inappropriate responses from the child. Officials say there is only one victim and they do not believe that any physical acts occurred between Tannery and the child.
The investigation began when a District employee contacted the Sheriff's Office this past Monday, to report the unusual behavior by Tannery towards a minor.
Tannery was released from jail Tuesday afternoon on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. The School District said she is no longer employed with the District.
