The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division initiated an investigation into a large scale drug organization based in Spartanburg County.
During the course of the investigation, the narcotics unit developed information that a large amount of methamphetamine was being brought into Spartanburg County.
Surveillance was set up along Interstate 85 yesterday afternoon with the help of Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Team and Spartanburg County Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team.
A traffic stop was conducted on the suspected vehicle on Hwy. 101 in Spartanburg County at approx. 5:30 PM.
During a search of the vehicle, approximately 10 kilograms of methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle and $3,500.00 dollars.
Two suspects were arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine over 400 grams.
The suspects are Elizabeth Jane Long, W/F, 33 years old, 305 Caldwell St., Campobello, SC, 29322, and Craig Marlon Williams, B/M, 43 years old, 640 Ferree Rd., Campobello, SC, 29322.
The approximate street value of the seizure is over $930,000.00 dollars. This is still an active investigation, and more arrests may result. This agency would like to thank the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office for their invaluable assistance with this investigation.
