One person is dead and another is injured after a crash involving a Spartanburg County Deputy and another county employee. The crash happened just before 1:30 Pm Wednesday, on Highway 176 at Brown Road, about 2 miles north of Pacolet.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the South Carolina Highway Patrol says, the driver of a Ford truck was trying to enter Highway 176 from Brown Road and collided with the Deputy's SUV. The driver of the county owned truck was transported to Spartanburg Regional where they were pronounced dead.
Deputy Robert Hutchinson Taylor was injured in the crash, and was transported to an area hospital, there's been no word on his condition. The identity of the deceased driver has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol's MAIT Team.
