An Upstate School Resource Officer who was put on administrative leave after an incident involving a high school student has now been fired.
As we previously reported, SLED was asked to investigate by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office following a complaint of an inappropriate relationship between the SRO and a student at Anderson District Five's Westside High School.
A spokesperson for the Anderson County Sheriff's office told local media, that the deputy was terminated on Wednesday.
Our newsroom received an email Wednesday from the Strom Law Firm in Columbia saying their attorneys will be representing the teenage victim.
The investigation continues and so far no charges have been filed. The name of the SRO has not been released by the Sheriff's Office.
