An investigation is underway following a fatal stabbing, Wednesday morning in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police Department responded to a reported stabbing on Smokey Park Highway just after 4AM, Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival, officers found a man lying on the train tracks suffering from multiple stab wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
