The City Of Easley has honored a police officer who died in the line of duty. Officer Matthew Hare died in 2023 after being hit by a train while trying to help a woman who was on the tracks.
The city has now named a stretch of road near the Easley Law Enforcement Center in Hare's honor.
The road dedication ceremony was held late last week, as the community and law enforcement came together to honor Hare's sacrifice.
