A group of professors and university students have helped close a missing persons cold case in North Carolina.
A group of 6 students and their proffessors from Western Carolina University went to Durham to help police search the woods in a missing persons case.
Police say, Kayleigh Best the director of Western's Forensic Anthropology Program found the remains of a person who had been missing since 2023. University officials say this is not the first case that students have helped police with.
Western Carolina boasts one of the world's largest body farm research facilities which allows students to study body decomposition.
