A Columbia man is charged with a fatal shooting in a Kia dealership Monday afternoon leading to a chase that killed an innocent driver.
The Columbia Police Department say 28-year-old Westley Gross shot a man, later identified as 39-year-old Graham Pope, in the car dealership on Greystone Boulevard.
Minutes later, a police cruiser dispatched to the shooting collided with a car on Highway 21 about a mile away. The car driver died of his injuries, the police officer also hurt. The suspect's Mustang GT eventually crashed in the backyard of a home near the city limits.
Pope is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. No word yet on a motive for the shooting.
