An investigation is ongoing after an officer involved shooting in the Upstate, over the weekend. The Greenville Police Department says an officer was working at Club Acuarius on North Pleasantburg Drive, early Sunday morning. The officer reportedly saw a fight in the parking lot and the suspect fired a gun during the altercation.
The officer fired back at the suspect, who ran on foot but was later taken into custody. Nobody was hit by gunfire in the incident. The suspect has now been identified as 20-year-old Carter Samuel Odom. He is charged with aggravated breach of peace.
The shooting is being investigated by SLED and the Greenville Police Department. Officials say the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave.
