An Upstate man is in the custody of federal authorities after he tried fleeing from being served with an arrest warrant. The DEA and Laurens County Sheriff's Office went to serve a warrant on Aberdeen Cornelius Craig of Gray Court, last week.
He was wanted for fentanyl distribution after a deadly overdose occurred. A traffic stop was attempted on Craig last Wednesday and he fled which led to a brief chase. A search warrant executed at Craig's home resulted in about 18,000 dollars in cash being seized.
Craig is charged with federal distribution resulting in death. He also faces state charges of aggravated assault, failure to stop for blue lights and a traffic violation. Craig is currently in federal custody.
