More than 25 years after a woman was sexually assaulted during a home invasion in the Upstate, the man accused of the crime has been found guilty.
The incident happened in April of 1997 when the suspect, Gregory Frye broke in and assaulted the victim. Frye had avoided being identified in the case until five year ago when DNA evidence linked him to the crime.
He was convicted Wednesday on charges of 1st degree sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary. He has been sentenced to life in prison which is the maximum punishment possible for those charges.
