A suspect has died after a taser was used on him by deputies in Augusta, Georgia over the weekend The Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of James Drive, around 8PM Sunday.
Deputies tried taking 34 year old, Jonathan McElroy into custody. The Sheriff's Office says McElroy refused to comply and a taser was used to subdue him. McElroy then became unresponsive and was taken to a hospital, where he died a few hours later.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine more details surrounding his death. This marks the 4th time in the last 5 years that a suspect has died after being tased by deputies in Richmond County.
