A Deputy in the Midlands has been released from a hospital after a head on collision over the weekend. The Newberry County Sheriff's Office says, Deputy Will Johnson was patrolling Saturday when was hit head on by an impaired driver.
Officials say, video from the scene show the driver barely missing another car before crashing into the deputy's vehicle. The suspect driver 46 year old, Steven Ray Hyler was arrested at the scene.
He's charged with DUI and open container. Deputy Johnson was taken to a hospital where he was treated and has since been released.
