The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that killed a 22-year-old. Deputies were called to a shooting near the intersection of Old Shirley Road and Sheriff Road just after 10 p.m. on Saturday.
That's where deputies found the victim in front of a home with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was airlifted to a hospital where they later died. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as 17-year-old Wyatt Pelfrey of Central.
Deputies and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force are searching for Pelfrey who is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers.
