A teenager has been arrested in the Upstate following reports of a student having a firearm on a school bus.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest following an investigation into those reports.
A School Resource Officer was originally notified of the potential firearm Monday afternoon, which prompted the investigation.
The teenager is being charged in Family Court with one count each of Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, Making Student Threats and Possessing a Weapon on School Property.
The teenager’s identity is being withheld due to them being a minor, and the investigation is still ongoing.
