A sentencing date has been set for disgraced former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright. He pleaded guilty last year on charges of conspiracy to commit theft from federally funded programs, obtaining controlled substances, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
According to a court filing Wednesday, Wright's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7th at 10AM. He’s scheduled to appear before a U.S. District Judge at the federal courthouse in Greenville.
Wright faces up to 20 years in prison on the federal charges. As part of his plea agreement, he will not face additional state charges. Two other defendants in the case, Lawson Watson and Amos Durham, are set to be sentenced two days after right.
