A special Republican primary will be held to nominate a candidate for the US Senate seat that was held by late Senator Lindsey Graham. Filing opens next Tuesday July 21 and closes the next Tuesday, July 28.
Early voting at designated polling locations will take place August 5 through the 7th. The special primary election will be Tuesday August 11. If necessary, the top two candidates advance to a primary runoff on Tuesday August 25.
The Republican nominee will face Democrat Dr. Annie Andrews in the November General Election. Governor McMaster has appointed Lindsey Graham's sister Darline Graham Nordone to fill the seat until Graham's scheduled term is over in January.
