Around the nation, there's been a lot of talk lately about trade tariffs that President Trump is imposing on other countries. The President announced a pause on the tariffs for most countries were paused, Wednesday.
Congressman William Timmons is in favor of those tariffs, he joined the Charlie James Show yesterday afternoon to give an update on that front. Timmons said "75 countries came to the table and are willing to reduce their trade barriers and President Trump has made the decision to reduce the tariffs to 10% for 90 days".
The Congressman then spoke on the tariffs in relation to China.
"He (Trump) is going to hold China accountable. I think it's ideal because now we've shown the whole world we mean business. We are going to hold China's feet to the fire and I have a really good feeling they are going to blink first."
The S&P 500 rose neaeyl 10% on Wednesday after the 90-day pause on the tariffs. That is its largest one gain in 17 years.
