Officials have released details after the tragic drowning death of a toddler in Gaffney, Thursday afternoon. The Cherokee County Coroner's Office says 3 year old Wyatt Childers was found in a small pond near his home.
The boy's mother noticed he was missing around 5PM after he had been napping in the house. Officials say he exited the home through an open window and was found about 50 yards from the home.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene after life-saving measures were performed but were unsuccessful.
