The Greenville County Cold Case Unit has done it again, as earlier today the Sheriff's Office announced the arrests of two men in connection to a nearly 7 year old murder case. In July of 2015, Alfonzo Pyles was shot and killed in the parking lot of Eastside Riverside Park in Greenville County.
In Late April, 24 year old Isaiah Emmanuel Irby and Brandon Rashard Barksdale were charged in connection to the murder. Investigators say, when they re-examined the case they determined that Pyles and Barksdale were arrested in 2013 after committing a robbery together. They say Barksdale felt Pyles was preparing to testify against him and that's when Barksdale and Irby conspired to kill Pyles.

Irby is charged with Murder, Criminal Conspiracy and a Weapons Violation. Barksdale is also charged, he's already incarcerated on unrelated charges. This marks the 7th cold case murder the Unit has solved since its formation in August of 2020."
