Two suspects are in custody after a weekend standoff in Spartanburg. Officers from the Spartanburg Police Department responded to a home on Saxon Avenue, just before 7:45 PM Friday.
Police say, the homeowner reported that he had come to the house to board it up, as vagrants had reportedly been breaking into and trashing the place. The homeowner called police after he found suspects inside the home without permission. When an officer went to investigate, a suspect opened the door but then immediately closed the door.
Hours later a suspect identified as Jennifer Smith surrendered without incident. She told police that another suspect, Dejervu Rogers was still inside. A standoff then continued for hours before SWAT Team officers made entry. Rogers was found hiding in a crawl space under the home.
Both suspects are charged with burglary, Rogers is also charged with resisting arrest.
