Two people are dead following a single vehicle accident over the holiday weekend. The crash happened in just after 12 AM New Year’s Day on Earls Bridge Road near Pace Bridge Road about 6 miles East of Pickens. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says that the driver of a GMC SUV crossed the centerline, then ran off the road and hit multiple trees.
Both the driver and the passenger in the SUV died at the scene of the crash. The Highway Patrol did not identify either victim but did say the driver was 29 years old and the passenger was 27 and they both were from Travelers Rest.
