Two suspects are behind bars but are fortunate that their not gunshot victims after a robbery at an Upstate home. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance at a home on John Dodd Road, just after noon on Wednesday.
While on the way to the scene, deputies were informed that the complainant's husband had the suspects at gunpoint. Upon arrival, deputies saw a man pointing a gun at one of the suspects, 51 year old Mitchell Lee Pruitt.
The homeowner lowered the shotgun upon command and deputies took Pruitt and another suspect, 45 year old Amy Marie Smith into custody.
Pruitt told deputies he had went to the home with Smith to give an estimate on the property. Smith told them she went to the home to retrieve a stolen vehicle tag.
Both Smith and Pruitt are charged with 2nd degree burglary and petit larceny.
