Two Upstate schools were put on "lock-out" protocol Wednesday. No one was allowed in or out of the Jonesville Elementary and Middle Schools in Union County for the duration of the school day. The security protocols were put in place after a woman went in the school with her child and reported a domestic incident to the School Resource Officer.
The suspect in the incident Paul Lee Miller reportedly followed the woman inside and was then escorted out. Miller then fled the scene, a warrant check on Miller revealed he was wanted for burglary and probation violations in Columbia.
The Union County Sheriff's Office says they used K-9 units, assistance from other law enforcement and a helicopter to locate a Miller who was hiding in a field. He was taken into custody on the existing warrants and the investigation into the alleged domestic incident is still ongoing.
