Two construction workers have been rescued after being trapped on a job site in Western North Carolina. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office says emergency responders were called to a construction site in the Edneyville Community, Thursday evening.
A dirt bank at the site reportedly collapsed trapping two people in a mound of dirt. Crews from the Sheriff's Office, Henderson County Fire and EMS, Henderson Water Department, and multiple fire departments all responded to the scene.
They were able to free one of the workers in about 30 minutes and a couple hours later they free the other worker. Both survived the collapse and were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.
