A startling discovery made on the campus of an Upstate University, led to an arrest, Monday morning. The Spartanburg Police Department responded to the campus of Converse University just after 7AM.

That came after campus safety officers say a female student reported waking up around 6AM and seeing a strange man standing by her bed. It was determined the man later identified as Dante Ludy had entered a dorm building through a laundry room window.

The student told police that she did not know the man and he did not respond when she asked him what he was doing there. Ludy was taken into custody, he's charged with assault and trespassing.

No further details have been released, but University officials say they are conducting a full review of the incident.
