One person is dead and a suspect is in custody after a weekend crash in the Upstate. The Greenwood County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash at the intersection of Avi Road and Sawgrass Place around 1:30 AM Sunday morning.
Upon arrival, deputies found a man that was severely injured in the wreck. Investigators say , the crash happened after two men were involved in a fight and was an intentional act.
The victim identified as 46 year old, Kenneth Davis McClendon was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The suspect identifed as, William Gray Ackerman Jr. was later arrested and charged with murder. No further information was made available by the Sheriff's Office, as of the time of this report.
