An Upstate man is facing charges for neglecting his mother following her death. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office responded in January to a home on Bagwell Road and found an elderly woman on the floor, unconscious.
She was transported to the hospital, where she died shortly after. The woman has been identified as 86 year old, Carolyn Wemett.
The Sheriff's Office says it was determined that her son 60 year old, Bret Wemett discovered her in the floor the day before and did not call for help.
Bret Wemett is charged with neglect of a vulnerable adult causing death.
