Upstate man gets 40 years for crime spree

An Upstate man is set to spend the next 4 decades behind bars after he went on a crime spree last year. The 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office says, 36 year old Wayne Patrick Bryant of Spartanburg pleaded guilty to a long list of charges.

The charges stem from a crime spree in the summer of 2021. Bryant was charged with 9 counts of 2nd degree burglary, three counts of receiving stolen goods, two counts of grand larceny, 6 counts of petty larceny and one count of breaking into a vehicle.

Investigators say, Bryant burglarized nearly a dozen businesses in the Spartanburg area. He was arrested in August of last year and had stolen property on him, when he was taken into custody.

His prior criminal record included various convictions for similar crimes. Bryan has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
