A Williamston man has been convicted of sexually abusing his son and physically abusing his daughter. An Anderson County jury found 46 year old, Leo Lopez III guilty of second-degree criminal sexual misconduct with a minor and unlawful conduct toward a child.
Prosecutors said the abuse occurred between 2020 and 2022, leaving the children with severe trauma. Lopez was sentenced to 15 years, which was suspended to eight years in prison.
He must also register as a sex offender after his release.
