An Upstate man was found dead in Anderson County, Friday. The Anderson County Coroner's Office responded to a report of a body in a ditch near CPR Way in Williamston, just before 10AM Friday.
The Anderson County Sheriff's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol also responded to the scene.
The deceased has been identified as 36 year old, Jody Calin Mason of Easley. Investigators say Mason was driving a Toyota SUV Tuesday when he crashed in the area.
He then exited the vehicle and left the scene prior to responders arriving. An abandoned vehicle was found nearby. Mason had been reported missing Friday and his body was found shortly after.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
