A Greenville man is expected to spend a quarter-century behind bars for his role in a 2023 shooting and robbery. A Greenville County jury recently found 28-year-old Calvin Lee Thompson Jr. guilty of Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, Conspiracy, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
According to the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office, prosecutors presented witness testimony, physical evidence, text messages detailing plans to rob the victim, and statements from a co-defendant that linked Thompson to the crime.
Authorities say, the victim was shot during a robbery on July 3, 2023. Following the verdict, Thompson was sentenced to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
