A Pickens man will spend close to the next two decades in prison for trafficking fentanyl. The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office says 61 year old, David Allen Wallace pleaded guilty to trafficking less than 14 grams of fentanyl.
The charge came after an incident in September of 2023. The Easley Police Department found Wallace sleeping behind the wheel of a car in the McDonald's drive-thru. A search of the vehicle uncovered 13 grams of fentanyl and over a $1,000 in cash.
Court records say, lab reports revealed that the fentanyl was mixed with a powerful animal tranquilizer that is known to cause overdoses that can't be treated with Narcan. Wallace has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.
