An Upstate murder suspect is in custody after being apprehended in the Midlands, Wednesday. As we previously reported, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office responded after a man was found shot to death inside a vehicle, Tuesday The victim has been identified as 21 year old, Jamyuz Bennett.
The suspect 27 year old, E'Nicholas Leake is charged with shooting and killing Bennett, two others inside the vehicle with Bennett were able to escape. SLED Agents and Richland County Deputies took Leake into custody, Wednesday.
Officials say Leake led deputies on a brief chase through Downtown Columbia, before fleeing on foot. The incident shutdown part of the downtown area for a period of time. Leake was taken into custody and is set to be extradited back to Anderson County.
