An Upstate man has been sentenced to decades behind bars after being convicted of kidnapping and aggravated assault. The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office says 50 year old Robert Wilson Voorhees, was found guilty in a jury trial.
The charges came after a 2024 incident in which Voorhees lured a woman from a Greenville gas station. He then assaulted the woman causing severe internal and external injuries. Voorhees fled the scene but police took him into custody after he was found covered in the victim's blood, nearby.
Voorhees has been sentenced to 40 years in the South Carolina Department Of Corrections.
